I got me a "why's" guy

This morning, Alex woke up and within minutes, started asking "why?" to everything I said. And I mean, everything. This has been going on all day and I'm sure it's not going away anytime soon. I am so amazed at how fast he's growing. Does anyone out there know any way to keep him little forever?

Starring...Doogie!

So, Doogs had another wonderful performance last night. Her kindergarten class put on a play based on the book Moose's Loose Tooth. She was the zebra. And she was darling. Her form was perfect ;) Oh, and I have to give a shout out to the maker of the zebra costume. Fabulous. Alex is Doogie's biggest fan.

Playing with the Ducks

Alex and I have a new fun activity we like to do. We take a bike ride to the ducks not far from our house. Alex loves to feed them. He so desperately wants them to eat off his hand, but they never do. As soon as they get close enough, Alex reaches for them (he wants to pick them up also), and they back off. He loves them. A Lovely Mother's Day

I have to publicly thank Joaquin for a lovely Mother's Day. I was prepared for it to be a so-so day and had decided I was going to focus on how much I love being a mother and how grateful I am for the opportunity. I was going to shower Alex with loves and spoils. But, Joaquin surprised me with a nice bouquet and cards from him and Alex. We spent the morning listening to a friend speak and after church we went to my family's to celebrate Mother's day, dad's birthday, and Becky's birthday. A lovely, lovely day.

P.S. I also got a new pair of fancy shoes.

Today was (my niece, Gabriela) Doogie's yearly dance recital. And I have to admit it... my eyes watered as I watched her. Boy, she is amazing! Her little class danced to the song "Carwash"- they were adorable. She was front and center, and, well, Doogie rocked the huzzzouse! (That girl was made to perform). Alex enjoyed watching the show...and toward the end, did a little dancing himself. It was fun to watch. I was really bummed we couldn't take any pics during the show, you should've seen her! No, really, you should've...
